File Extensions

By default, ImageExport uses JPG, PNG, BMP, TIF, WMF, EMF and so on as file extensions when it exports your slides to picture files.

You may prefer different casing (ie, jpg or Jpg instead of JPG) or you might want to use a different extension (JPEG instead of JPG).

ImageExport lets you choose the extension it adds to exported files.

To do this, you'll need to edit the PPTools.INI file.

How do I edit INI file settings?

Find the line in PPTools.INI that looks like this:

[ImageExport]

For example, add a new line beneath it and type:

JPGextension=jpeg

Save the file.

Now when you export JPGs, they'll have the extension .jpeg instead of the default .JPG

You can use any or all of the following lines:

That is, your INI file entry might look like:

[ImageExport]
JPGextension=jpeg
PNGextension=png
BMPextension=WhoPutTheBMPInTheBMPshooBMPshooBMP

After making those changes, ImageExport will export JPGs with a .jpeg extension, PNGs with a .png extension and ...

We have no idea what Windows or your programs will make of a file with a name like Slide001.WhoPutTheBMPInTheBMPshooBMPshooBMP but if you want it, ImageExport will make it for you.

The power is in your hands. Use it wisely.
